Role Overview:
As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will deliver specialised Occupational Therapy services to children and young people (aged 0–18) with complex disabilities. The role is centred around family-focused care and collaborative practice, ensuring positive outcomes for both the child and their carers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver services in line with the goals and objectives of the CDNT and national guidelines for disability services.
- Conduct assessments and provide interventions consistent with the principles of the Children’s Disability Network Teams.
- Support children with a range of complex needs in community settings.
- Embrace interdisciplinary teamwork and a family-centred approach, in line with the Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People programme.
Candidate Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification).
- CORU registration or eligibility to register.
- A minimum of 1 year’s post-qualification experience, ideally with a focus on paediatrics and supporting children with complex disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound clinical judgement.
- Experience in clinical supervision and leadership is an advantage.
- A full driving licence and access to a car is essential.
