Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and analytical professional to join our public service client's Innovation and International Research Team on an initial 18 month contract. This role supports international research programmes, funded research projects and collaboration initiatives that drive energy innovation and de-carbonization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery, analysis and communication of International Energy Agency activities, including management of the IEA Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP)
- Act as a key contact point for internal and external stakeholders and coordinate the annual TCP Participant Appointment Call
- Lead dissemination and knowledge-sharing activities to maximize programme impact
- Support the delivery of the Research and Implementation Strategy 2026–2030
- Provide project management support across commissioned research and EU-funded research projects
- Support the organization's role as National Contact Point (NCP) for Horizon Europe Cluster 5 (Energy)
- Represent the organization at national and international meetings, events and committees
- Demonstrate flexibility during periods of peak activity
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A degree (minimum NFQ Level 7 or equivalent) in Engineering, Science, Economics or a related energy discipline
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience in an energy-related role or research programme administration/management
- Experience delivering projects end-to-end, including planning, risk management, cost and quality control
- Strong understanding of energy technologies and national and European energy policy priorities
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and managing diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including reporting, presenting and public speaking
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines
- High attention to detail, strong numeracy skills and a commitment to quality
- Well-developed IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Desirable:
- Postgraduate or PhD qualification
- Experience managing funded research projects or working within research consortia
- Experience in technical analysis of energy technologies and systems
- Experience delivering workshops, events or knowledge-sharing activities
- Experience or knowledge of delivering positive customer or stakeholder experiences
