Company Profile:
Our client is a Dublin-based biologics manufacturing company operating in a highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment. The site is undergoing continued investment and expansion, delivering projects that support manufacturing capability, compliance, and operational excellence. Due to an increased project portfolio, the company is seeking a Contract Project Engineer (12 months) to support the delivery of capital and expense projects across Process, Utilities, and Automation/IT systems.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Projects Programme Manager, the Project Engineer will support Senior Project Managers on large-scale capital projects or independently manage multiple smaller projects, depending on business needs. The role will involve full lifecycle project delivery, with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, cost control, and regulatory compliance within a biologics manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional and global teams and will have exposure to senior stakeholders while contributing to the site’s long-term strategy and transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support projects from concept through execution to close-out
- Deliver projects in compliance with safety, engineering, regulatory, and quality standards
- Develop business cases, scopes, budgets, schedules, and execution plans
- Coordinate internal stakeholders, global engineering functions, and external contractors
- Manage project finances, including budgets, forecasting, and cost control
- Oversee design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and validation support
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks
- Ensure adherence to stage-gate governance and project management processes
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ years’ experience delivering engineering projects in a pharmaceutical or biologics environment
- Strong understanding of the project lifecycle and stage-gate processes
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional teams
- Experience delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in MS Office; SAP and budgeting tools desirable
- Biologics manufacturing experience advantageous
