Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Purchasing Administrator to support a busy Purchasing Team with a wide range of purchasing and procurement activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the day-to-day operations of the purchasing function
· Assist with the sourcing and procurement of materials and services
· Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to prevent disruption to operational schedules
· Process and price high volumes of invoices, checking against agreed price lists and liaising with the finance team as part of the purchase ledger process
· Manage the ordering and stock control of PPE and workwear for the head office, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders on stock levels and pricing
· Coordinate weekly van stock orders across multiple response areas, ensuring orders are processed on time and ready for collection at designated locations
· Act as the point of contact for suppliers supporting a specific response area, using online supplier systems daily, carrying out system checks, and ensuring PO numbers are always available
· Monitor, record, and escalate supplier price increases to senior team members
· Provide general administrative support within the purchasing department
· Undertake additional duties as required that are consistent with the nature of the role
Skills & Experience
· Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role is desirable, but training will be provided.
· Strong organisational and time-management skills
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
· Confident communicator, able to liaise with suppliers and internal teams
· Ability to work on own initiative and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
· Competent IT skills, including experience with purchasing or finance systems
