Safeguarding Officer

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, a leading mental health provider, is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Safeguarding Officer to join their Social Work Department.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to take on a senior leadership role in safeguarding within a progressive mental health setting.
This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will also hold a part-time clinical caseload, providing senior-level social work support to patients and families.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Social Work and accountable to the Chief Executive, the Safeguarding Officer will:
- Lead the implementation and oversight of hospital safeguarding policies and procedures
- Act as Designated Liaison Person/Designated Officer for safeguarding matters
- Provide expert advice and support to multidisciplinary teams
- Review safeguarding concerns and support the development of safety plans
- Conduct preliminary screenings and safeguarding audits
- Monitor and report safeguarding trends to management and relevant committees
- Deliver safeguarding training at induction and ongoing staff development
- Promote a positive, inclusive safeguarding culture across the organisation
Essential Criteria:
- Professionally qualified Social Worker registered with CORU
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification Social Work experience
- Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy, and best practice
- Experience in adult safeguarding and child protection, including managing allegations and serious incidents
- Experience working in adult mental health services
- Experience working in acute, hospital settings
