About the Role
Cpl, Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a leading hospital for a Basic Grade Pharmacist to provide safe, effective, and efficient pharmaceutical care to patients. This full-time, permanent role involves delivering clinical pharmacy services, supporting medication management, and contributing to continuous improvement within the pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize patient care and safety in all pharmacy activities.
- Uphold and promote core organizational values including quality, safety, dignity, and integrity.
- Deliver clinical pharmacy services in line with best practice and competency frameworks.
- Lead and support management of medicine shortages and formulary processes.
- Participate in development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and medicines information resources.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance medication management and clinical guidelines.
- Identify and report discrepancies, incidents, and service deficits to senior management.
- Support medication safety initiatives including audit, incident reporting, and medication error investigations.
- Provide expert advice on drug availability, procurement, and cost-effective medication use.
- Contribute to the development and expansion of clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, hospital committees, and quality improvement programs.
- Assist in the training, mentoring, and supervision of pharmacy staff.
- Support research and pharmacy practice-based audits following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development and participate in hospital accreditation processes.
- Work collaboratively within the pharmacy team to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
- Possess the required specialized knowledge and skills to perform role duties effectively.
- Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
- Strong planning, organizational, interpersonal, and people management skills.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives.
