Technician III – Structural Heart R&D
The technician supports the development of next-generation transcatheter heart valve devices. This hands-on role focuses on testing, equipment maintenance, and prototype support in a fast-paced, innovative medical device environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of medical device components and equipment.
- Support and lead device test planning, execution, and root cause investigations.
- Execute R&D Engineering Build Requests, including inventory and build management.
- Operate lab equipment, prepare compounds/solutions, and report test results accurately.
- Interpret and work from schematics, engineering drawings, and instructions.
- Create and assist in the development of R&D prototypes across multiple product teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards throughout all activities.
Requirements
- Diploma (Level 7 NFQ minimum) in Engineering or Science, with 1–2 years’ relevant experience in a medical device, lab, or operations setting.
- Familiarity with test methods, lab/test equipment, and technical documentation.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience managing R&D build requests, inventory, and related documentation.
- Team player with a high standard of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
