We are hiring a Data Analyst on an 18 month contract, on behalf of our client. Role is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days onsite per week, in Dublin City Centre.
The candidate will join a large organisation, to review consumer behaviour and activities surrounding their products and services.
Keen to speak with candidates with the ability to quickly understand current business needs, challenges and opportunities. Supporting Risk, Needs, and opportunities into an actionable and achievable plan is part of the role.
Key Requirements
The role of the Data Analyst – includes but is not limited to the following:
• Manage (and preferably automate) the processing of multiple waves of survey data
• Develop code (preferably in R) to clean data, undertake descriptive analysis, undertake multivariate regression analysis, and other analysis as required
• Produce summary slide decks and written reports on each survey wave
• Be prepared to present results to a range of stakeholders including other teams within the company and the Department
• Undertake analysis for other Behavioural Economics Unit projects as required, which may include analysis of administrative datasets for the purposes of designing or evaluating behaviour change interventions.
• Active participation in the wider Data and Insights team, supporting other programme areas as required
To ensure that activity peaks within the Behavioural Economics Unit Department are addressed in a proactive manner, it is expected that the candidate appointed to this role will need to be flexible in terms of working hours during these periods.
Key Knowledge and Skills
The knowledge and skills required include but are not limited to the following:
• Ability to conduct rigorous statistical analysis of survey data, including regression analysis.
• Ability to work with large datasets (e.g. administrative datasets) for the purposes of evaluation or predictive modelling.
• Data visualisation skills with the ability to summarise information in a clear and compelling way
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present analytical results in a clear and engaging way through written reports and presentations.
• Excellent data management and organisational skills.
• In-depth knowledge of R statistical programming language is preferred, additional knowledge of Python and Tableau would be an advantage
• In-depth knowledge of behavioural science and/or sustainable energy policy is not required but would be an advantage.
Experience and Personal Qualities Required
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate
• Graduate qualification in a directly relevant subject area (including but not limited to statistics, data science, econometrics, behavioural science)
• Proficiency in using the statistical programming language R and/or other programming languages
• Experience in applied data analysis, specifically statistical analysis of survey and administrative data;
• Experience in communicating technical information through presentations and reports
• Ability to work independently under own initiative
• High level of attention to detail and rigorous approach
• An interest in applying behavioural insights to sustainable energy topics
• Minimum two years’ experience of working in this or a related area
Desirable Requirements
• Post-graduate qualification in a directly relevant subject area (including but not limited to statistics, data science, econometrics, behavioural science)
• Experience conducting research related to behavioural science and/or energy efficiency and renewable energy;
• Experience in an energy-related policy field (e.g. public sector, academia, industry);
• Experience with one or more of the following:
o Using SQL and extracting information from disparate databases
o Survey or behavioural experiment design
o Processing of unstructured data and sentiment analysis of text data
o Coding online experiments using javascript/html/css
