Immediate contract requirement for an experienced Project Manager, who is very strong technically to drive end to end delivery of large scale, complex programmes of work
Working as Project Manager/Senior Delivery Manager, you will have hands-on experience in refining, implementing and embedding agile & hybrid delivery processes and engaging with the business in defining the business value in projects.
Role & Responsibilities
Work with the Portfolio Manager to define a project structure and delivery methodology for the Business Initiative in line with Framework -
· Ensure successful delivery from initiation through to completion, managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations
· Lead technical delivery for strategic deliverables, ensuring integration with legacy systems and alignment with enterprise architecture & quality standards
· Collaborate with Architecture, QA, and Portfolio Leads to manage technical deliverables, backlogs and roadmap planning
· Responsible for full end to end project activities including test planning and deployment to production
· Collaborate strongly with all Tech/Business/Finance teams ensuring alignment and transparency on deliverables, RAID, finances etc
· Manage a team of Delivery Managers ensuring a transparent reporting & performance management culture
· Report delivery status and updates in line with recommended governance framework
· Work closely with finance business partners to ensure the active management and reporting of project financial status outputs
· Build and maintain relationships with senior business stakeholders, including Director and C-Suite levels.
· Prepare transparent programme decks for Steering meetings with all stakeholders & deliver these presentations
Skills required
- Relevant 3rd level qualification with a strong technical focus
- Excellent knowledge and proven experience of working with IT Software Development Lifecycle methodologies including Waterfall & Agile
- Possess at least 10+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 8 years in project or programme management / agile delivery
- Experience in working with third party suppliers in the delivery of business or IT change initiatives – including experience of working with remote and co-located teams and vendors
- Experience of implementing projects with a budget of at least €1 million
- Experience leading complex technology and business transformation projects
- Acute understanding and ability to demonstrate expertise in Quality Management, Project Planning, Risk & Change management
- Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally at levels up to Director and C Suite, and ability to make complex technology problem simple to the business. Must be capable of understanding and communicating the “big picture”
- An effective team manager with proven ability to build, motivate and support a high performing team
- Highly motivated, driven, pragmatic and completely focused on project delivery for business benefit
- PMI-ACP/SAFe certification
- A technical background is preferred – ideally gained in consulting companies or experienced working with enterprise systems with international, Tier 1 customer organisations
- Knowledge of IT and Digital systems, including experience of leading software development projects involving web-based, mid-range and integration platforms and applications
- Detailed understanding of the technical architecture underpinning the IT service landscape in e-Commerce, Online Media or Information Technology & Services environments
