Role Summary
A growing and dynamic organisation is seeking a technically skilled and commercially minded Tax Assistant to join its in‑house tax function. This is a broad, multi‑disciplinary role involving tax research, scenario modelling, governance, process improvement, and the development of a strong internal tax control framework.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Research, Planning & Analysis:
- Conduct research on domestic and international tax matters.
- Prepare tax simulations, scenario analyses, and planning models.
- Develop and maintain calculations, working papers, and documentation.
Process, Controls & Documentation:
- Enhance and document the tax control framework.
- Identify control gaps and collaborate on remediation.
- Maintain structured tax documentation libraries.
Tax Governance & Oversight:
- Oversee compliance activities performed by finance teams.
- Coordinate adviser report reviews and tax authority correspondence.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
- Act as first point of contact for tax queries.
- Coordinate with external advisers.
- Support cross‑functional initiatives.
Requirements
- Qualified or part‑qualified tax and accounting professional.
- 3–5 years’ experience in practice or in‑house.
- Strong grounding across VAT, employment tax, and international tax.
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
